Die wirtschaftliche Lage für Unternehmen in Deutschland hat sich 2025 spürbar eingetrübt. Nach einer aktuellen Analyse des Wirtschaftsinformationsdienstes CRIF ist die Zahl der Firmeninsolvenzen auf rund 24.000 Fälle gestiegen und liegt damit so hoch wie seit 2014 nicht mehr. Gegenüber 2024, als 21.964 Unternehmensinsolvenzen registriert wurden, entspricht das einem Plus von 9,6 Prozent. Parallel dazu stuft CRIF inzwischen mehr als zehn Prozent der deutschen Firmen als insolvenzgefährdet ein.

Als wesentliche Treiber des Anstiegs nennt CRIF-Geschäftsführer Frank Schlein ein ganzes Bündel an Belastungsfaktoren. Viele Betriebe kämpften demnach mit hohen Energie- und Produktionskosten, zusätzlicher Bürokratie sowie anhaltenden Störungen in Lieferketten und Absatzmärkten. Auf der Nachfrageseite blieb die Konsumlaune verhalten, da gestiegene Lebenshaltungskosten das frei verfügbare Einkommen der privaten Haushalte schmälerten. Besonders kleinere Unternehmen und mittelständische Strukturen geraten laut Schlein dadurch unter wachsenden finanziellen Druck, der sich nun in der steigenden Zahl an Insolvenzen materialisiert.

Die geopolitische Lage verstärkt die Unsicherheit. Der Irankrieg hat laut der CRIF-Analyse zu deutlichen Preissteigerungen bei Öl und Gas geführt und damit die Aussichten für Inflation und Wachstum erneut eingetrübt – in Deutschland wie auch international. Viele der positiven Signale, die es in den vergangenen Monaten etwa bei der Unternehmensstimmung gegeben habe, würden durch die höheren Energie- und Beschaffungskosten teilweise überlagert. Zwar habe sich die lange Zeit zurückhaltende Stimmung in den Betrieben zuletzt etwas aufgehellt, doch die gesamtwirtschaftliche Entwicklung bleibe fragil.

CRIF rechnet damit, dass sich der Aufwärtstrend bei den Firmenpleiten im Jahr 2026 fortsetzen wird. Der Ausblick ist geprägt von der Kombination aus anhaltend hohen Kosten, geopolitischen Risiken und nur zögerlich anziehender Nachfrage. Für Unternehmen erschwert das die langfristige Planung und dämpft Investitionsbereitschaft. Besonders dort, wo finanzielle Puffer bereits aufgezehrt sind, steigt damit die Wahrscheinlichkeit weiterer Insolvenzen – trotz einzelner Lichtblicke in einzelnen Branchen und Regionen.
